While FLEXOR® is our trademark name it is not just a name. It is a proprietary steel primarily comprised of Chromium, Molybdenum, and Tungsten and not produced anywhere globally except by Pennsylvania Steel Corporation.

The roots of the company stem from early automotive which loved the aspects of FLEXOR® in non-production components for fast processing and turnaround in the maintenance departments. 

No - we ship everything from our Detroit plant. However, we do ship globally from this location and generally have very short lead times.

No - not particularly. It is important to back off on feeds and speeds in the elevated hardness'.  It is important to note that FLEXOR® does not use Nickel as its primary hardening alloy which will tend to work harden during cutting. FLEXOR® is often compared to 4130 for machinability ratings.  

No, not if it is supplied in the normalized condition. Many of our customers purchase FLEXOR® in the normalized condition which is 28-32 HRC. This can be quenched and tempered from this state without requiring annealing.
