No - not particularly. It is important to back off on feeds and speeds in the elevated hardness'. It is important to note that FLEXOR® does not use Nickel as its primary hardening alloy which will tend to work harden during cutting. FLEXOR® is often compared to 4130 for machinability ratings.
No, not if it is supplied in the normalized condition. Many of our customers purchase FLEXOR® in the normalized condition which is 28-32 HRC. This can be quenched and tempered from this state without requiring annealing.
